SMALL ANIMAL DENTISTRY

Full Service Dental Care Since 1985

What does dentistry look like for small animals?

Preventative dental care is vital to prevent gum disease and the complications that follow. Preventative care keeps your pet's mouth healthy and pain-free and cost much less than treating the complications that always develop with poor oral hygiene.

Providing a dog chew does not provide oral health. Just like people, dental cleaning and brushing are the only keys to a healthy mouth.

But how does it work?

Just like when you go visit the dentist, we use special tools to remove tartar and plaque from your animal’s teeth to help prevent tooth decay and additional problems. Also, if any teeth are damaged, infected, or have cavities, we can take care of that as well, whether through extraction, medicine, or whatever other techniques help your pet return to health.

If you need help taking care of your pet’s teeth or need to seek more advanced dental care for them, please call Mountain Valley Veterinary Hospital today at (828) 254-2122.
